Welcome to Plated Studio ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information (email, name) when you sign in with Apple
• Photos you upload for transformation
• Transformed images stored in your gallery
• Custom styles you create, including reference photos
• Subscription and purchase information
• Profile questionnaire responses (your role, platforms you use, photo volume, and priorities) to help us improve the app experience
• Restaurant profile information you provide or import via search (name, address, phone number, hours, cuisine type, description)

We request access to your device's location solely to help you find your restaurant when setting up your restaurant profile. Your location is used to prioritize nearby search results so your restaurant appears first. For example, when you search for your restaurant name, your location helps show nearby matches before results in other areas.

Location data is not stored on our servers, is not shared with third parties beyond the search service, and is not used for tracking or advertising. You can deny location access and still search for your restaurant manually — results will default to a broader geographic area.

With your permission, we may send you push notifications and local notifications. These are used to:

• Notify you when a photo transformation is complete (especially when the app is in the background)
• Notify you when batch processing of multiple photos is finished
• Alert you when your monthly credits are running low or have been refreshed
• Send occasional promotional messages about new features or offers (you can opt out at any time)

You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your device settings. Push notification tokens are stored securely and are only used for delivering notifications through the app.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process your photo transformations using AI technology
• Send your photos to Google AI services for professional-quality image transformation and selective editing (see Section 7 for full details)
• Manage your account and subscriptions
• Send you notifications about your account activity, completed transformations, and credit usage
• Send you technical notices and support messages
• Respond to your comments and questions

Your photos and data are stored securely on our servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

When you use Plated Studio's photo transformation and editing features, your uploaded food photos are sent to Google AI services for processing:

• Photo Processing — Your food photos are sent to Google AI services for professional styling, transformation, and selective area editing (the "Enhance" feature), delivering studio-quality results and precise enhancements to specific areas of your photos.

The following data practices apply to all AI services listed above:

• Only the photo content you upload is transmitted — no personal identifiers, location data, account information, or metadata is shared with these services.
• Photos are used solely for the purpose of generating your transformed image or edit.
• Photos are not used to train AI models.
• Photos are not stored by Google after processing is complete.

Before your first photo transformation, the app displays a consent prompt that clearly identifies these third-party AI services and asks for your explicit permission before any photos are shared.

In addition to the AI services described in Section 7, we use the following third-party services:

Restaurant Search — When you set up your restaurant profile, we use third-party services to search for and retrieve publicly available information about your restaurant (name, address, phone, hours, photos, reviews, and ratings). Your device location may be used to prioritize nearby results.

Additional third-party services:

• Apple Sign-In for authentication
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• Expo Push Notification service for delivering push notifications

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app settings.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings
• Deny or revoke location access at any time via device settings

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
